Do you need improvements made to your home but are not able to afford them? Are there projects you aren’t able to undertake due to financial hardship or health reasons? Rebuilding Together can help at no cost to you. Rebuilding Day On the first Saturday in May, we bring volunteers together to make improvements and repairs to homes throughout Des Moines. To have your home included, you must meet four qualifications. Do You Qualify? To qualify for Rebuilding Together programs, you must:
• Have your home insured under a homeowner's policy • Be low income per Polk County guidelines • Assessed value of the property must not exceed $134,000 • Complete an application “It sounds to good to be true.” That’s the reaction of some homeowners when they first hear about Rebuilding Together. But it is true—all repairs and improvements are completed at no cost to the homeowner. It’s the companies, organizations and volunteers who provide the financial support, supplies and labor. Homeowners are welcome to lend a hand. |
